Creative Visions in Virginia Beach

It is very exciting to participate in the group show, Creative Visions, in Virginia Beach April 2 through June 29. We are all members of Springfield Art Guild and many of us plan to be at the Opening Reception on April 4 from 5:30-7 at Towne Pavilion Center, 2101 Parks Avenue in Virginia Beach. The exhibit features many media: acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media/collage, oil, pastel, and more. My photograph, Jalousie, is printed on the card.

Target Gallery at the Torpedo Factory - March Madness

Look for my two seafaring mixed media pieces, Explore and Voyage. I played History Geek on these two, playing off Sirens and Elizabeth I on one and The Ambassadors and a skeleton on the others.

Edit - I could not part with Voyage, so it's in my private collection.

Tuscan Harvest

The photographic reference for this pastel painting came during a train trip from Rome to Venice and I know it was from north of Florence, but I am not sure how far north. The entire trip was wonderful for seeing the lush fields and vendor carts. This is my homage to them.

This was the beginning of the piece, prior to a water floated underpainting.
