Fountainhead Regional Park offers great vistas in an urban area. Here, though, I chose something more close to paint. I was fascinated by how these canoes were bunched up together tumbling around. They lent themselves to a more abstract treatment.

Hey! This is Erin!
I love your artwork. This one really jumped out to me! I love the bold red. I actually emailed your blog link to one of my friends who is also interested in art and he was very impressed. I hope all is going well for you.

Hi Erin,
Very glad for you to visit. I hope you are doing well, too. This painting is especially obvious because of the red - almost everything I usually paint is green!

I went to this park again last week, hoping for a tumble of canoes again. Alas, they were on a rack this time!

Please visit again. It's great to hear from you.

This is one of my favorites - it reminds me of the canoes at our Boy Scout camp. My son is an Eagle and spent many summers teaching the canoeing and boating merit badges. I can't help but look at stacks of canoes and feel proud of him - I guess that's sort of silly, but you captured it perfectly.
